Coach Jeff Mewett
Coach Jeff Mewett is from Plano, Texas. He found his way to Athol Murray College of Notre Dame in Saskatchewan, Canada, and he also attended the University of Regina.
Coach Mewett played for DMHA Stars Youth Hockey, Bantams AA in 1997 - 1999, he then went on from there to play Notre Dame AAA / Junior AA in 1999 – 2004. Finally Coach Mewett came back to Texas and played Junior B in 2005.
Since then Coach Mewett has been coaching the Dallas Titans / Hawks Junior B team. This year he will be coaching some smaller players, he will be coaching the Hawks Squirt A team, then he will switch hats and coach the Junior A Hawks team, and for Plano High School. Coach Mewett has coached during the Dallas Hawks Rising Stars camp for 3 years, and also does private lessons.
Coach Mewett remembers his defining moment while playing in the Quebec PeeWee AA tournament in 1998 and scoring the game winning goal vs. Great Britain to go to the finals. Coach Mewett lists his role models as being Brett Hull and Wayne Gretzky. While growing up, and playing in the DFW area, Coach Mewett has a passion for developing young players in this area, and he hopes to watch them go on to bigger and better things.
