Dallas Hawks Hockey Association

This years Dallas Hawks Coaches are a group that will make the Hawks a formidable Association this season.

The Hawks coaching staff is lead by the General Manager, Director of Coaching Lucas Reid. Coach Reid didn’t just come to us without experience as a player or a coach.  Coach Reid was the Director of Athlete Development Saskatchewan Hockey Association 03-05 (Hockey Canada), the Director of Scouting Nipawin Hawks 02-05 (SJHL), and Regional Amateur Scout Moose Jaw Warriors 02-Present.

Coach Reid has played hockey in Canada most of his life, being from Moose Jaw, Saskatechewan, it would only seem right.   While on a Bantam AAA team, the team won the Provincial Championship in ’94, ’95, ’96.  During college Coach Reid graduated with a Bachelors of Psychology degree from the University of Regina.  With hockey players, he couldn’t have thought of a better major!  Coach Reid has played college hockey for the University of Notre Dame, he’s also played for teams like the Moose Jaw Warriors, and the Weyburn Red Wings.

 With 6 years of experience as a head coach, he’s coached AA and AAA teams in Canada, and Texas.  While coaching in 2002 his team went to the National Championship Appearance Midget AAA.  His most recent teams were Plano West High School, the Texas Attack PeeWee team, and our own Dallas Hawks Mite team.  Coach Reid also took the Team Texas (PeeWees) to the One Hockey tournament.  The team did great they made it to the Semi-Finals round!   This year the PeeWee AA Hawks will be lucky to have his talents coaching them.   

His most defining moment in life was when he played the Air Canada Cup Finals where he was a First Team All-Star, Captain, and he found time to lead the tournament in scoring.

Coach Reid gives private lessons, and has coordinated and coached many hockey camps for all ages.   He has an Advanced Level 2 Hockey Canada Coaches training, and he also has his Level 4 USA Coaches training.

Already at a young age Coach Reid has had many players go on to the Major Junior League (WHL).  Some of Coach Reid’s role models are Wayne Gretzky, Darcy Ticker, and Ryan Smyth.
