This years Hawk PeeWee Prep Team will be coached by Brad Larson. Coach Bard Larson grew up in the “Great White North” and calls Brooklyn Park, Minnesota home. While growing up Coach Larson played Minnesota Youth Travel Hockey, he also played High School Varsity Hockey, and Junior “A” with the AFHL Helena Ice Pirates. He went on to play college hockey at St. Clair Shores College in Windsor Ontario when they won the 2001/02 OCHA Championship. Following college, he played with the Jacksonville Hammerheads (SEHL), and with the Texarkana Bandits. Coach Larson has also helped his team win 2005 JV Gold City Championships.
With all of his experience Coach Larson knows exactly what it takes to coach winning teams. Coach Larson will be coaching again this year. He is coaching the WSHL Junior “A” Dallas Hawks, and the PeeWee Prep Team. In the past he has been an Asst. Coach for the Plano West High School team,
Coach Larson has been to many camps himself, and knows how to put a great camp together. He has started his own hockey camp called Players Hockey. Coach Larson coached the Highland Park Spring Program, DJHA Spring Camp, Texas Attack Spring Camp, and the Dallas Hawks Camp. Coach Larson has coached many players when they were young, and now they are playing ‘AAA’ hockey. A few “great players on Coach Larson’s list are, “The Great One” Wayne Gretzky, “Sid the Kid” Sydney Crosby, and Bobby Probert. His defining moment in life was when he won his first true championship with St. Clair College. “Hockey is so competitive where I am from and my teams got close a couple of times but we could never pull it off. So it meant a lot to finally win one.”
